Sensory Space
We have a new designated sensory space at The Rowans AP which will support pupil’s sensory preferences and needs.
It is a space which aims to provide pupils with the individualised sensory input they need to self-regulate, so they can be better prepared for learning and interacting with others.
The sensory space will benefit all pupils, especially those who have been exposed to trauma, stress and those with specified sensory needs.
The sensory space will provide a safe environment where pupils can be supported to calm and regulate, therefore optimising learning and participation in the school environment.
The Sensory Space is flexible, changeable and adaptable and will be used for interventions, a quiet working space or somewhere to take some time out from the day.
