The Rowans AP Academy uses the signs of safety approach, alongside Medway’s social care team, as it has a rigorous focus on child safety and wellbeing.  The process of signs of safety approach to safeguarding ensures that the child and parents/carers and everyone naturally connected to the child, remain at the centre of the assessment and subsequent decision-making.  It enables children and their parents/carers to suggest and apply their own solutions before professionals offer theirs.  This supports the signs of safety approach that everything is done to sustain the child’s lifelong connection with their family, culture and community of origin throughout agency involvement.
